FRIENDSHIP BAPTIST CHURCH
WHAT’S NEXT
For several months, I have posted
a message on our website about the upcoming election.
(Click here if you would like to
read Who Gets Your Vote.)
In less than 90 days, we will be
going to the polls to choose the person to lead our country for the next four
years.
I personally believe that this
election is one of the most important ones in my 67 years.
There are many questions on the minds of American
people – the war, gas prices, unemployment, mortgage crises, national security,
Supreme Court decisions and future appointments, etc.
What has brought our great
country to this point?
I believe with all my heart and
soul there are reasons for this.
I feel that
Our country has fallen on hard
times, and it could be for the same reasons as ancient
I.
THE
BREAKDOWN OF OUR FAMILIES (read Jerm. 1:4)
A. The home is
no longer what it used to be. People no longer want the
responsibility of marriage.
Instead of honoring God's holy institution
of marriage, people just live
together. That is a sin!
B. Many homes in America have become avenues for alcohol,
drugs, and
even sex. Young people often
start their downfall from their parents'
medicine cabinet or bar.
C. Only 13% of American families include a working dad and a
stay-at-
home mother.
D. James Dotson once remarked, "Everything in the modern home
is
controlled by switches, except our children."
E. The divorce rate
in America has risen to the same scale as Ancient Rome.
B. In this
year's presidential race, our choice is crystal clear on this issue.
How could any born-again child of God vote for anyone who believes in
the death of the unborn?
C. Some say
abortion is a woman's right; she can choose what she does with
her body. As I see it, a woman makes a choice whether or not to have sex.
God's Word is very plain about this. Sex is beautiful inside the marriage,
and children are a blessing from God. America will pay for the murder of
these unborn babies, either now or in the future.
III.
SEXUAL
PERVERSION (read Matt. 16:3)
B. Recent court
decisions that allow same-sex marriage are an
abomination to God. What used to be looked upon with shame and
disgust is now accepted and flaunted.
C. In
America, one million unmarried teenage girls become pregnant
every year.
D. The "Don't
Ask Don't Tell" policy of the Clinton administration has
greatly weakened our military.
E. Venereal
disease strikes someone in America every 12 seconds.
F. One of
this year's Democratic presidential candidates has admitted
to having an extra marital affair even though his loving wife of 30
years is battling cancer.
G. Eighty percent
of young girls have had sex before their marriage.
IV.
ILLEGAL
IMMIGRATION (read Isaiah 1:7)
B.
Our country is being flooded by people who have no respect for our
laws. It seems as if they have more rights now than our own citizens.
C. Our country is slowly
being indoctrinated with the socialist beliefs
of other countries.
D. There have been over
40 intrusions by the Mexican military into
America this year alone. Recently, two of our own Border Patrol
agents were held at gunpoint by these Mexicans. When will this end?
E. We are slowly
but surely being led down the path toward a "socialist
government." The government will take care of us from the cradle to
the grave. How does your candidate feel about this? Is Hillary
Clinton's
book, It Takes a Village, the answer? NO!
The real answer, the only answer,
is to turn back to God and His leadership before it is too late.
How
long will
In
90 days or so, our country will decide which direction we will take.
How does your candidate measure up
in these four critical areas?
Is there hope for
It’s
time we answer, what’s next,
