WILL WE FIGHT TO SAVE AMERICA?
(Psalm 33:12)

Why is America in such a mess since our independence on July 4, 1776?  For over 200 years, God has let America survive. I often wonder how much longer He will allow our nation to exist.

I believe that this election is probably the most important of my lifetime.  I truly believe that our country is at a crossroad, and this probably will be the election that decides the direction of our country. What has brought this on in America?  Following are just a few reasons:

-    Over 50 million dollars a year is spent on pornography.

     -    Over 50 billion dollars a year is spent on alcohol.

     -    Thirty eight percent of the homes in America are troubled by alcohol.

     -    Sexual perversion is at an all time high.  Only twelve percent of women go
to the marriage altar as a virgin.

     -    Over 50% of marriages end up in divorce.

     -    Over 60 billion dollars a year is spent on gambling.

     -    Abortion is increasing day by day.  By the way, I still believe that this                       is murder of the unborn!

-    The political offices of the government are filled with homosexuals
          and lesbians.

Is it any wonder that the judgment of God is being leveled at our country?  Has our country gone too far?  Is there any hope?  I believe that the Word of God has the answer in II Chronicles 7:14.  God shows us that there are five things required for Him to work this out:

     -
It must begin with God’s people.

     -
It will begin when the people of God truly humble themselves before God.

Pride has to go.  God hates this in my life or yours.

     -    We must pray as never before.  This may even require us to miss a meal or
two, and spend that time on our knees.

     -        We must seek the face of God.

     -
We must turn from sin in our lives.

How can we fight to save this country that we love?

-    Go out and vote!  Polls show that thirty or forty percent of
registered voters
won't even bother to go to the polls.  What a shame to think that people will
take this election so lightly.  Men and women have given their lives so that
we have the privilege of voting.

     -    Be sure that you vote according to what the Bible says about how the
candidates view certain things like abortion and same sex marriage.  If the
candidates' views are not what God’s Word says, don't vote for that
          candidate.
  (Read Phil. 4:8)

     -    Pray fervently before you cast your ballot. Remember, the first thing the
Pilgrims did when they came to this country was to get down on their knees
         and pray to God.

In closing, let me urge you to be sure and take part in this election.  I have NO doubt that this is the most important one in my seventy-one years on this earth.  The direction of our country will very likely be decided by our vote.

May I ask you about another candidate by the name of Jesus Christ.  Have you voted for Him by placing your faith and trust in Him as your personal Lord and Savior?  If not, now would be a great time to do so.  Please click on How to Be Saved to learn how.

Please pray as Nov. 6 draws closer.  May God bless.
