How to assemble Christmas
Luke 2:8-20

I am sure at this time of year we can all remember trying to assemble things for Christmas.  Maybe it was a swing set, bicycle, or some other toy. Often when we are trying to assemble items, we get into trouble when we fail to read the instructions.

Have you ever thought about how to assemble Christmas? I hope that these thoughts will be a blessing to you as we think about this subject.

   I.  Discover the main part.  Read Luke 2:15-16.

       A.  Everything has a main part.  Christ is the main part of
Christmas.  It all began with His virgin birth. No one has ever
come into this world like Jesus did.

       B. Today we often hear of stores that have taken Christ’s name out
of this season; mega stores like Wal-Mart and Target have gone
the way of the world in following this trend. It seems that the
phrase “Merry Christmas” isn’t welcome in their stores
anymore. Never forget that Jesus truly is the reason for the
            season.

       C. Why did Jesus come into the world? He came into this world to
save us – to give us everlasting life!  Read Rom. 5:19, II Corth.
            5:21, John 3:36.

2.  Follow the instructions.  Read John 3:16.

A.  God has given us an instruction manual called the Bible.  It
points us to the main part – eternal life through Jesus!  Read
     John 10:10.

B.  All new cars come with an instruction manual.  We study it to
see how to best maintain the vehicle.  God’s word is our manual
which we, as Christians, are to follow.  Read II Tim. 2:15, II Tim.
      3:16.

  3.  Take time to think through the instructions.  What's it all about?

       A. Why do we celebrate Christmas? Is it just a day off from work?

   B. Christmas isn’t about Santa Claus, Rudolph the Red
Nosed Reindeer, or Frosty the Snowman. It is all about Jesus
Christ, our Lord and Savior, who came into this world so that we
could have eternal life through His shed blood on Calvary.

C.  I think that it would do each of us some good to go back and
revisit that night often, not just once a year at Christmas.  When
you gather around the Christmas tree this year, take a few
moments to think about the real reason for the season.  Open up
the Bible on the coffee table and read the Christmas story in
Luke.  Read it aloud to the whole family and rediscover the real
      meaning of Christmas.

4.  Don't quit until you finish the job. Read Luke 2:17, 20.

  A. The shepherds made the news of the Savior’s birth known
abroad.  Sharing the great news of our Lord and Savior with
others should be the desire of our heart as Christians. Tell
someone about the Lord this Christmas.

 B.  After sharing the great news of our Lord and Savior, they
returned praising the Lord.  How often do we praise Him for the
great blessings He provides every single day?

How can this Christmas be a merry one?  We must assemble it the right way.  Christmas is not about me, and it's not about you; it's all about HIM!!!.  If you are unsaved why not make this the best Christmas of your life by inviting Jesus Christ to come into your life and save you today.  Click on How to Be Saved.

Thanks so much for visiting our website.   I hope that it is a blessing to you.
